Emba Allison followed God’s call to Japan in 2015 after hearing a dramatic message at a conference on the huge mental health needs in Japan from a Japanese pastor serving in suicide prevention work. In order to deepen her understanding of Japanese culture firsthand, Emba went to Japan as an English teacher where she has worked in local government public schools for 7 years. As well as teaching, she has a burden to assist with mental health issues, outreach through friendship evangelism, gospel choir music and ministry to the homeless.

From March 2022, Emba began serving with the mental health work of a small counselling centre in Tokyo which seeks to bring hope, help and healing to those struggling with mental health challenges in Japan.
