English literature about Japan

Many helpful books and pamphlets have been written by people with deep experience of Japan and outreach to Japanese people.

Do please take a look at other pages of our website which offer short summaries covering topics such as understanding Japanese thinking, what Japanese people believe, as well as some suggestions on how you might want to approach sharing the gospel with a Japanese friend.

Our online shop also stocks a selection of illuminating books in English which range from the popular Christian's Pocket Guide to the Japanese, through to explanations of the spiritual barriers in Japan and many accounts of mission work undertaken and other aspects of the work of gospel outreach to Japanese people.

Do let us know if you find any of these particularly helpful and also if you come across a book which we do not list which is available, we are always looking to expand our listings with resources which will equip and encourage Christians to share the gospel with Japanese people wherever they are.
