How we are organised

The Lord has blessed Japan Christian Link with a skilled team of people.  Here are some brief details of our trustees, our staff and our amazing volunteers.

Trustees

The governing body of Japan Christian Link is the JCL Council, which consists of those who have been chosen to be trustees of the charity.  The Trustees set out the strategic direction of the charity and have responsibility for its work and all the activities which are undertaken.  They meet typically 2 - 3 times a year and pray, receive reports of activities and how initiatives are progressing, approve financial budgets and generally seek to maximise the progress which is being made to fulfil the JCL's charitable objects and mission.

Staff

We have two Directors and one Administrator working at Japan Christian Link.

Selvan Anketell is our Director of Mission. He was born in Sri Lanka but spent his later childhood in England. He has had a 25-year international career in the oil industry, which included a posting in Japan. As JCL's Director of Mission since 2000 he provides support and leadership for JCL's network from our UK office in Sevenoaks, Kent. Selvan would value prayer for wisdom and effectiveness in his work, a heart for people and a clear sense of priorities amid many opportunities and needs.

Ian Maclennan is our Director of Operations.  He spends time at home and at JCL's office in Sevenoaks, Kent. Previously he worked for a Japanese bank in London and sought to draw alongside Japanese business people. The operations of Japan Christian Link are varied and require a knowledge of charity law, accounting, foreign exchange, pensions, event management, literature retailing, etc.  Ian would value prayer for effectiveness of the work undertaken, so that operations would fully support the gospel outreach work being done, allowing the gospel message to be shared by all involved without distractions from operational issues!

Christina Rozario is our Administrator who looks after our online Book Shop and deals with all aspects of administration to keep the operation running smoothly and efficiently. She previously worked in financial services in the City of London and she loves talking to people and helping them share the Lord Jesus in their mission fields.

Volunteers

We give thanks almost every day for the skilled and dedicated team of volunteers who have kindly offered to take on various aspects of JCL's work.  Chief among these is our JCL Communications Volunteer Joe Townsend who brings a careful eye for detail and some amazing technology skills to bear on the challenging task of producing all our publications, including requesting contributions, collating the resulting material and then personally working on the detailed design.  Interested in joining the team?  Take a look at our Volunteer page.

The spiritual need in Japan is great, most Japanese have never heard the gospel and do not know a Christian. Your gift will make a big difference, thank you! To support a specific JCL Partner, let us know in the Leave a Comment box.
